Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DPC Practice?
DPC stands for Direct Primary Care, a simplified practice and payment model that enables health care providers to directly care for and bill patients without the limitations of insurance companies and corporate healthcare systems.

How Big is a DPC Practice?
DPC practice allows for a small patient panel, generally limited to 300-400 patients (compared to 2000-3000 in a traditional practice) allowing for patient focused interactions. In this small setting, providers are able to spend less time worried about productivity and more time on quality patient care. Most of our well visits are scheduled for an average of one hour to ensure all of your questions are answered and needs are met.

Can I use my insurance for DPC services or membership?
No. Direct primary care practices provide medical care that is not modified or dictated by insurance companies or government entities. Instead, we charge an affordable monthly membership fee in exchange for all-inclusive visits, direct provider access, and health services. **Please note, we are not a replacement for insurance. We encourage patients to, at a minimum, carry coverage for unforeseen major medical events.

What if I need to see a specialist?
Referrals are included in our membership services. Insured patients may use their plans, when applicable, for specialist services. We strive to maintain consistent communication and records to ensure prompt, quality coordination of care.

Do you offer Telehealth or virtual visits?
We strive to provide care at a time and place that is most convenient for you. We offer virtual visits through our online portal for established patients.

Are there any additional fees?
Additional fees apply to lab testing, health screenings, medication administration, and imaging. We offer both member and non-member pricing for these services. Additionally, we are pleased to offer affordable self-pay pricing options for uninsured patients.

Do you require immunizations to be a patient?
We offer immunizations as recommended by the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics, though we do not require vaccinations for care.

Do you offer services to non-members?
Consistency in care is an important aspect of our practice. In an effort to support a thorough knowledge of each patient's health as a whole, we extend a limited number of visits to non-members. We encourage those looking for routine well care or with health concerns to establish membership.

Is there a physician or back up provider?
Yes. Our collaborating physician is a board certified family medicine doctor, and is available to our nurse practitioner at all times.
